to begin with the plane boeing says will define the future of the air travel. but for the last month or so, if you've been following this with us, the 787 dreamliner has made most of its headlines really for all these mechanical problems. here is just the latest, just a couple of hours ago, this japan airline, 787, was preparing to leaf above then when it started leaking fuel. so guess what happened? flight had to be canceled. and just yesterday morning, same airport, boston's logan airport, small fire broke out on yet another japan airline 787, just about 30 minutes after its arrival from tokyo. all the passengers and crew, they had already left the plane, but there is still a lot to talk about when we talk about what is supposed to be the revolutionary jet. let me begin with sandra endo, watching today's issue for us from washington. sandra, what happened now? >> yeah, brooke. a new day, a new problem for boeing's marquis airplane, the dreamliner, just before noon us is, the pilots of jal flight 007 scheduled nonstop from boston logan airport to tokyo, reported a fuel leak on the runway.

of boeing's new passenger jets has caught fire while parked at an airport in boston. investigators believe an electrical fault is to blame. it was being operated by japan air lines. it has suffered a string of problems with the electrical system. five men accused of murdering and indians didn't have been formally charged with the 23- year-old died after being gang raped. the brutality of the crime has sparked protests across india. >> they arrived in a police van flanked by security for their safety. they were brought into a side entrance to avoid the dozens of reporters waiting for them. the main entrance was jammed and satellite trucks and news correspondents. the accord was close to the public. the magistrate charged the five subjects with the murder and rape of the student. the case has roused the emotions of the public. members of the bar association announced they would not represent the accused. proceedings on monday were interrupted when some lawyers offered to represent the accused. it caused an argument with an accord and the magistrate walked out. -- would then the court on the
review of boeing's brand-new 787 dreamliner passenger jet. a news conference is also planned for later this morning. meanwhile, cbs 5 reporter anne makovec is at the san jose international airport where one of those plans will land this morning. >> reporter: good morning. these new reports certainly marring the celebration here at san jose's airport. the flight is set to leave from san jose headed straight to tokyo. this is a big debut flight. it's supposed to leave at 5 minutes before noon today. it is still on schedule. this is the first boeing 787 dreamliner aircraft to fly from the bay area. this model has been flying for over a year. around 4 a.m. today, the faa ordered a comprehensive review of critical systems in that model. this is video from a few hours ago in japan where one of the planes developed a cracked windshield. another one had a fuel leak. no passengers were injured. no serious consequences. but obviously, concerns. there was also a separate fuel leak and a fire reported on one of the aircrafts earlier this week. cbs av

a rough week for boeing's newest jet. today a 787 dreamliner flight is canceled for an error message about the plane's brakes. on monday, a japanese airline, a 787, caught fire at boston's logan airport. the fire started in the battery compartment. no one was on board. and then on tuesday, another japanese airliner 787 was canceled, this time because of a fuel leak. >> hey, that japan air may know it, but they've got fuel or something spilling out the outboard left wing there quite a bit. >> sandra endo joins us now from washington. tell us more about these incidents. they're now under investigation, right? >> well, carol, the string of irregularities for boeing's marquee plane, the 787 dreamliner, is certainly a concern for the manufacturer. the plane is the first commercial airliner to be made mostly of carbon composites, or plastic, which means it's a lighter plane that boeing says uses less fuel than conventional airliners. well, boeing says it is working with ntsb investigators, looking into monday's fire on a japan airlines 787 at boston's logan airport. the fire involved the batteri
